BuildOps Seed Funding Makes Major Headlines

READ TIME2 Minutes

In the music world, an artist has a crossover hit when they create a song or album that generates interest outside its typical genre. For example, Billy Ray Cyrus reached crossover status with the popular song “Old Town Road”.  What makes a crossover hit special is that it becomes so appealing (or catchy) it reaches audiences far beyond its typically or expected listeners.

At BuildOps, our “genre” is software for commercial contractors. Within this industry we have experienced positive momentum and praise from the people whose voices matter the most – our customers, team and partners.

This momentum has begun to carry BuildOps into ‘crossover’ territory with praise from people outside our industry. In recent articles, we have received recognition from some of the biggest publishers in technology and business. And here’s what they’re saying:

Forbes Magazine

“BuildOps is unique because it addresses the problem of efficiency in construction for an often-overlooked audience. Rather than focusing on large projects, or catering to owners, they look to the needs of technician-heavy subcontracting firms working in the commercial space.”

Wall Street Journal

“BuildOps, the Santa Monica, California, startup that provides software for real estate subcontractors was seeded with $5.8 million in funding from investors including Fika Ventures, MetaProp VC, Global Founders Capital, CrossCut Ventures, TenOneTen, IGSB, 1984 Ventures, Liquid 2 Ventures and Ground Up Ventures.”

TechCrunch

“The new financing will be used to support the company’s continued growth. BuildOps sells software that integrates scheduling, dispatching, inventory management, contracts, workflow and accounting into a single software package for commercial real estate contractors with staff ranging from a few dozen to several hundred employees.”

Crunchbase

“In a statement, [former NFL superstar] Joe Montana noted that his firm (Liquid 2 Ventures) has an investment thesis in supporting America’s working class.

‘I just love the idea of making their lives far easier and better,” he said. With BuildOps, “you have one solution that does it all and talks seamlessly to every single part of their business from parts to ordering to inventory and more.'”

At BuildOps, we are on a mission to bring a true all-in-one solution on the latest technology to the people who keep America’s hospitals, power plants and commercial real estate running. We are privileged to be working closely with some of the country’s top commercial contractors.
