BuildOps has been named to the 2026 Inc. 5000, Inc.'s annual ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in America, placing No. 336 with 1012% revenue growth over the past three years. The company also announced it has been named Project Management Solution of the Year in the 2026 PropTech Breakthrough Awards.

The Inc. 5000 ranking provides a data-driven look at the most successful companies within the economy's most dynamic segment: independent, entrepreneurial businesses. Past honorees include companies such as Microsoft, Meta, Chobani, Under Armour, Timberland, Oracle, and Patagonia.

BuildOps earned its place on growth that keeps compounding inside its existing customer base. The company passed a $1 billion valuation on its $127 million Series C led by Meritech Capital Partners, and now serves more than 1,500 commercial contracting companies across North America. The sharper signal is how hard those contractors are leaning on the platform: monthly active users of OpsAI, BuildOps' embedded intelligence layer, are up 17x year over year, technicians ran more than 100,000 equipment scans in a single month, and invoices are going out the door 73% faster. In May, BuildOps opened its first dedicated Canadian headquarters in downtown Toronto.

“Commercial contracting was supposed to be a bad market for software — too fragmented, too analog, too hard to sell into. That's exactly why we went after it,” said Alok Chanani, co-founder and CEO of BuildOps. “This list measures how fast a company grew. What it's really measuring is how fast an industry everyone wrote off decided to change.”

The PropTech Breakthrough award points at where that growth is coming from. Project management software has always been built for the general contractor running a site from a trailer, not for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire and life safety contractors doing the work. BuildOps launched Projects in May to close that gap, letting specialty trades run multi-month construction jobs on the same system they already use for daily service work: live labor and material costs, ordering gated against budget, real job costing by crew, and one shared picture for the field and the office.

“A general contractor's software will tell you the schedule slipped. It won't tell the mechanical contractor what that slip just cost them,” said Will Lehrmann, Chief Product Officer at BuildOps. “That number is the whole job for our customers. We built Projects so the people carrying the risk can watch it in real time instead of finding out at closeout.”

Both recognitions land a week after BuildOps published Torque 2026, the first edition of its annual Commercial Contractor Benchmark Report. Industry benchmarks are almost always surveys — executives describing what they believe is happening in the field. Torque is built from a full year of real jobs, invoices, work orders, and service agreements moving across more than 1,500 commercial contractors, and it answers a question the trades have never been able to answer with hard data: what actually separates the best-run contractors from everyone else, and what closing that gap is worth. 

Companies on the 2026 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth over the trailing three-year period. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the start of that period, be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent as of the end of 2025. 

The PropTech Breakthrough Awards program recognizes standout innovation in the global real estate and property technology market, with winners selected by an independent panel of industry judges.
