September Product Update: What's New in BuildOps
Finance Hub is landing this month, plus fresh layouts, deeper project financials, and smarter file handling.

Every contractor knows the problem: the margin the field watches all month somehow isn't the number that Finance books at close.
We built Finance Hub to stop that gap at the source. Every transaction, labor, materials, invoices, gets checked and coded to the right job the moment it happens, so the number you see in the field is the number that's in your books.
Introducing Finance Hub

We don't just move the data. We make sure it's right first.
Haynes Mechanical is already running month-end close on Finance Hub, and sync errors on their transactions have dropped from 14% to 6%. Real close, real numbers, no more two-week scramble to find the one transaction that doesn't match.
Dig into Finance Hub here.
And that's not the only thing landing this month. New layouts, deeper project financials, and smarter file handling are also shipping across BuildOps in September.
Mobile redesign, continued rollout
Module: Mobile
Availability: Currently available.
What's new The new design system keeps rolling out screen by screen. This round brings a refreshed header to more top-level screens, new list styling on Purchase Requisitions search, and pop-out menus that keep actions contained instead of spilling to the bottom of the screen. A keyboard bug on Android that redrew lists at the wrong size is also fixed.
Why it matters: The refreshed header and consistent list styling make the app easier to navigate in the field. This is a gradual, tenant-by-tenant rollout, not a switch flipped for everyone at once, so some techs will see the new look before others.

Job details, reorganized
Module: Service
Availability: Releasing 9/15, phased rollout.
What's new: The Job Detail page moves to a cleaner grid layout. Fields line up evenly, and the Issue Description and Service Channel Description fields each get a full-width row of their own.
Why it matters :Issue Description now gets more width, so a job's whole scope is readable at a glance.

Reusable project file templates
Module: Projects
Availability: Releasing 9/15 to all.
What's new: Admins can now build reusable folder and file templates, complete with starting documents, and apply them to any project in a few clicks: pick a template, preview the structure, confirm. Set a default template so it applies automatically to every new project going forward.
Why it matters: Every new project can start from the same folder structure and starting documents automatically, set once and applied by default.

Clearer construction financials
Module: Projects
Availability: Releasing 9/15 to all.
What's new: Revenue Billed to Date can now include or exclude retainage, set once at the company level. New KPIs show up alongside it: Revenue Earned to Date and Retainage Held to Date for Quoted and Unit Price projects, and Margin, Profit, Invoicing Progress, and Total Revenue for time and materials projects. Every KPI now carries a tooltip explaining exactly how it's calculated.
Why it matters: PMs and controllers see real over- and under-billing and cash flow without exporting numbers to a spreadsheet to back out retainage by hand. When a number looks off, the tooltip explains it instead of leaving anyone to guess.
Coming soon: Gross (incl. retainage) and net billed-to-date figures, plus new retainage columns, in the Projects WIP dashboard.

Submittals, rebuilt (Beta)
Module: Projects
Availability: Open beta, available now by request through your CSM.
What's new: A rebuilt Submittals workflow with clearer status tracking (including a new Revise and Resubmit status for partial approvals), full revision history with an audit trail on items, and bulk import for adding a large list of items at once.
Why it matters: Track partial approvals, review complete revision histories with time-stamped audit logs, and instantly bulk import full lists of items into BuildOps.

Drag & drop attachment upload on customers and properties
Module: Directory (Customers, Properties)
Availability: Currently available: released 9/1.
What's new: The Attachments tab on Customer and Property pages now has a drag-and-drop dropzone, the same one already used on Quotes. Drop one file or several at once and they upload immediately. No extra step asking for a name first.
Why it matters: Attachments now work the same way across Quotes, Customers, and Properties: drop a batch and it uploads. Requested directly by a customer, now live for everyone.

Stay tuned for what's next
That's all for September. As always, for questions on rollout timing or access to any of the above go straight to your CSM.
